Megan and Rob’s Summit Sangria
Megan is the sister of a friend of mine, so of course when she asked me to create the invites for her autumn wedding, I was ecstatic. She and Rob got married at the summit of Windham Mountain Resort during mid-October. She selected beautiful shades of reds and oranges to accent her fall wedding. I knew the slide-in cards from Cards and Pockets would be a great option for her. We came up with a design that showed a bride and groom riding a chair lift over some mountains, with the die-cut slide-in card creating a foreground of trees. All paper and printing were done by Cards and Pockets.
The Invite:
• 4.5x6.5 Invitation
• 4.75x6.75 Slide-In Invitation in Claret
• 5x7 Tangy Orange Backing Card
• 4.5x6.5 Information Card
• A7 Envelope in Tangy Orange
The Cocktail:
• 5 1/2 cups Lambrusco or Sparkling Red
• 16oz Sparkling Orange drink (we used a blackberry tangerine sparkling water)
• Juice from 1/2 an orange
• 4oz Bourbon
• Splash of Orange Liqueur
• Cinnamon sugar for rimming glass
• Orange slice for garnish
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher. Rim a rocks glass with the cinnamon sugar. Add a few cubes of ice, pour and garnish with an orange slice!
