Amber's Breakfast at Tiffany's Mimosa

 Amber’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s Mimosa

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my favorite movies, and my sister did such an amazing job planning this special day for me. The brunch was hosted in the 2nd floor gallery at the Lower Mill (catered by the Rabbit Room) in my hometown of Honeoye Falls, NY. The location is special to me because I used to take art classes here as a kid. I ordered illustrations from Etsy (here and here) to help create my invitations and thank you card and used a petal fold envelope to give the invitation a special “unboxing” feel. This mimosa cocktail is easy to make and fits perfectly with the theme! Paper and printing by Cards and Pockets. Bridesmaid’s sleeping masks found on Etsy. My sister bought me the costume for my birthday from Etsy (item no longer available).

The Cocktail:

• Splash of Blue Curaçao
• Approx 2oz. Lemonade
• Approx 2oz. Prosecco
• White sanding sugar
• Lemon slices for garnish

Rim a champagne glass with the sanding sugar. Pour a small splash of Blue Curaçao into the glass (more or less depending on your preferred color. I recommend less to get a lighter teal color). Fill glass 1/2 way with lemonade. Fill the glass the rest of the way with Prosecco. Garnish with a lemon slice!

Just a few more details…
I spent a little extra time finessing the typography on these so that some of the ascenders and descenders of the script font intersected and looped through the larger serif font. It gave the invitation and Thank you card a really subtle, elegant feel. The illustrations I purchased were used as part of the shower decor. I also found this great wooden Breakfast at Tiffany’s poster on Etsy (item no longer available) that we used as a guest book and now hangs in my office.
